According to the captions of the first Thor movie, the battle between the Jotuns and Asgardians take place in Norway, 965 AD. Around this time, Loki was born.

In Thor 2 the life expectancy was stated to be around 5,000. The average human life in developed countries from what I’ve gathered is approximately 82.

Therefore, in human years Loki is somewhere around 17

Genuinely my favourite part of the film. The way his lips sneer around the word, the way he says it with such..passion. The way that hardly anyone but me in the cinema actually knew what it meant.

OH MY GOD THAT’S WHAT THAT MEANS???

SERIOUSLY
HOW DID THIS GET PAST THE CENSORS?
DID NO ONE HAVE A FUCKING THESAURUS ON HAND? OR AN APP ON THEIR IPHONE? NO ONE WAS CURIOUS?

This was my favourite part and I use it as an insult regularly

My friends still make fun of the way I loudly gasped when he said it.

I watched this movie like 4 times before learning what it meant and then nothing was ever the same again. 8I

and this is why Joss is my hero….

People didn’t know what that meant? Wat?
Sort of off-topic but what I really love about this scene is how it exposes how misogyny is a weakness. He could NOT see how dangerous she was, could not see how deftly she was playing him, how she was manipulating him. It’d be like a man in a fist-fight not even considering that he needs to block an opponent’s right hook. His expectations of her based around his misogynistic impulse left him WIDE OPEN. I think when this first happened, people flipped their shit about the violent, sexist language. But it really was brilliantly done, because it exposed how…when men are sexist, they don’t see the world. Their sexism is a weakness and it leaves them in a vulnerable position that can be taken advantage of. When you can’t see the world around you and can only relate to it through your own ignorant prejudices, you’re never going to be as strong as you could be, or as dangerous as you could be.
